Commissioner's Decisions
Section 69(1) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act
(the FOIP Act) requires the Information and Privacy Commissioner to conduct an
Inquiry if a matter cannot be settled through mediation or investigation. Section 72(1) of the FOIP Act then requires the Commissioner to dispose
of inquiry issues by making a formal Order.
This section of the site includes Investigation Reports relating to privacy
complaints, Orders (including Orders of Adjudicators) in response to requests
for review, as well as other written decisions made by the Commissioner under
the Act. Also included here are decisions from the Court of Queen's Bench
on Judicial Reviews.
